I'd like to propose an outing on Tuesday 8 April, to do two fun things in one evening:
Sushi!!!
At 7 PM, we will meet for dinner at Tempura (Plantage Kerklaan 26hs), near Artis. I've been to this restaurant before with coworkers, and Tempura has a WONDERFUL menu, that includes both sushi plus other options (tempura, yakitori) for those who don't want to eat raw fish. The prices are also very reasonable! =)
Film: I'm Not There (Filmhuis Kriterion)
After dinner, we'll head out to the theater to see 'I'm Not There', which is a film about the many facets of Bob Dylan.
According to Wikipedia: "I'm Not There is a Golden Globe Award-winning and Academy Award- nominated 2007 biographical film inspired by the life of iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. It depicts seven distinct stages of Dylan's life and public persona portrayed by an ensemble cast of actors: Marcus Carl Franklin, Ben Whishaw, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere, and Cate Blanchett, who play characters based on Dylan but with different names. The film tells its story using non- traditional techniques, similar to the poetic narrative style of Dylan's songwriting. It takes its name from the Dylan outtake "I'm Not There", a song never officially released until its appearance on the film's official soundtrack album. Critically acclaimed, I'm Not There made many top ten film lists for 2007, topping the lists for The Village Voice, Entertainment Weekly, Salon and The Boston Globe."
The film 'I'm Not There' starts at 9:45 PM at Filmhuis Kriterion (Roetersstraat 170). For those without a bicycle, the theater is within easy walking distance of the restaurant.
